📍Castle Rock I DRCOG Briefs Douglas County on 2050 Regional Transportation Plan Update

The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) presented its first update since 2021 to Douglas County’s Transportation Steering Committee on April 2, detailing revisions to the 2050 Regional Transportation Plan. Key changes include expanding the Regional Roadway System to better prioritize funding for major travel routes across the metro area. The update coincides with Douglas County’s own 2050 transportation planning efforts, which recently concluded public comment and are moving into the evaluation phase. DRCOG noted that the regional plan can be adjusted every four years based on member input.

📍Highlands Ranch/ Rox Park I Chatfield Crowned the Best State Park: Here Are Some Fun Reasons Why

On April 11, 2025, Governor Jared Polis declared Chatfield State Park as Colorado's best state park, following a March Madness-style online voting competition. Chatfield triumphed over other popular parks like Cherry Creek, Golden Gate Canyon, Eldorado Canyon, and Staunton. The park offers diverse outdoor activities, including boating, hiking, and pet-friendly areas, earning praise for its expansive trails, drone zones, hot air balloon rides, and water activities. From the serene High Line Canal trail to the thrill of jet skiing at Chatfield Reservoir, it’s clear why this park stands out.

📍Parker I Police Target Street Racing With Extra Weekend Patrols

To combat illegal street racing, the Parker Police Department has added weekend shifts specifically focused on enforcement. Announced via a playful social media post referencing Fast and Furious, the department made clear that while Dom Toretto’s crew may win pink slips, reckless drivers in Parker will earn speeding tickets instead. Police emphasized their commitment to keeping local roads safe from those who treat them like drag strips.
