Welcome back to the midweek edition!
In this Wednesday issue, we highlight some community stories, including the expansion of local favorite Poulette Bakeshop. In a very dog-forward edition, we also feature an adorable new member of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, as well as Tilly from Highlands Ranch. Thanks for your patience, Carly—Los Dos was slow with gift card fulfillment, but enjoy!

Poulette Bakeshop to Relocate to Parker’s Mainstreet This Fall
Poulette Bakeshop, the nationally acclaimed French bakery in Parker, is relocating this fall to a larger, more central location on Mainstreet inside the new Juniper luxury apartments. Owned by award-winning pastry chefs Carolyn Nugent and Alen Ramos, the shop has earned accolades from the James Beard Foundation and The New York Times. The current Hess Road location will remain open for a period after the new shop launches, potentially offering locals two ways to satisfy their sweet tooth. Read more at Denverpost.com.
Meet Deputy Guster: Douglas County’s First K9 School Resource Officer Brings Comfort and Connection to Cresthill Middle

Douglas County has welcomed its first-ever K9 school resource officer, Deputy Guster—a yellow Labrador retriever partnered with Deputy Brian Corbin at Cresthill Middle School in Highlands Ranch. Trained by the nonprofit Freedom Service Dogs, Guster is part of a new initiative aimed at strengthening student well-being and enhancing school safety. As a calming presence in the halls, Guster will help build trust and offer emotional support to students, marking a new chapter in the district’s approach to student engagement and law enforcement collaboration. Black Rock Coffee Bar: A Modern Café with Community Roots
We were running around this weekend so I stopped at Black Rock for a quick coffee run just north of Highlands Ranch. Located at 7961 S Broadway, Black Rock Coffee Bar brings its signature mix of quality coffee and community vibes to Littleton. Originally founded in Portland, Oregon, the chain is known for its bold brews, smooth lattes, and popular specialty drinks like the Turtle iced coffee and Mexican mocha.
The café offers a bright, modern space with plenty of outlets—great for working or studying—and a convenient drive-thru for coffee on the go. Whether you're grabbing a quick drink or settling in for the afternoon, Black Rock aims to be more than just a coffee stop—it’s a place to connect.
