Happy Cinco de Mayo! I don’t know about you all, but that was a busy weekend—in the best way! Let’s take a look at what’s happening around the county this week and start peeking ahead to the weekend. With the warmer weather comes even more fun things to do in DougCo, so check out the lineup—and if I’ve missed anything, send your suggestions or places to explore my way!

Enjoy Live Music Every Thursday Night in June & July
Get ready for warm nights and cool tunes! The 2025 Discovery Park Summer Concert Series kicks off in Parker this June with free live performances every Thursday at 6:30pm. Bring a blanket, grab your picnic basket, and relax at Parker’s scenic outdoor amphitheater, complete with an interactive water fountain for the kids.

📍Castle Rock 🏡 Grand Opening: The Meadowmark Brings 200 Affordable Senior Homes to Castle Rock
New 55+ Community Offers Comfort, Convenience & Affordability in The Meadows
On April 30, local leaders, including Governor Jared Polis, celebrated the grand opening of The Meadowmark, a new 200-unit affordable housing community for adults 55 and over in Castle Rock. Developed by Ulysses Development Group, this thoughtfully designed community features modern amenities like a yoga deck, fitness center, craft room, and more—all at affordable rates. The project was made possible through a strong public-private partnership and aims to meet the growing need for senior housing in Douglas County.
📍Highlands Ranch ⚾ Rockies First Baseman Michael Toglia Uplifts Patients at UCHealth Highlands Ranch
On April 18, Colorado Rockies first baseman Michael Toglia brought smiles to UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital, visiting patients, signing baseballs, and swapping stories. From chatting about classic Rockies players to surprising 99-year-old Mary Bushman with a signed ball, Toglia offered a heartfelt break from hospital routines and reminded fans that the spirit of the game reaches far beyond the field.
